GLASS ARTS CLASSES
Beginning Stained Glass: This class is for those new to stained glass or those who want to refresh their skills. Students will create a “suncatcher” as they learn how to use patterns, score and break glass, grind and solder. All tools and materials will be provided. Closed-toe shoes and eye wear (prescription glasses or protective glasses) must be worn during classes.
Intermediate Stained Glass: This class is for those who have completed the beginning class and have experience working with stained glass. Participants will create a ‘window’ using bevels and lead came. This technique is used primarily for larger pieces and lead came replaces copper foil as the connection between pieces of glass. Closed-toe shoes and eye wear (prescription glasses or protective glasses) must be worn during classes.
Beginning Glass Fusion: This class introduces the basic concepts of glass fusion; glass choices, firing choices, cutting, grinding and assembling projects in preparation for firing and slumping the project.
Specialized Glass Fusion: These classes are project specific and often relate to the ‘time of the year’ ie Halloween, Christmas, Valentines, Easter etc.
Classes are posted in the ‘Blue Binder’ in the studio and the storekeepers (during store hours) can assist you in choosing and signing up for classes. Please do not take or write in the book yourself.
